Welcome to our centennial conference “Rock & Fluid Physics: Academic and Industrial Perspectives” webpage. We are delighted to announce that the conference will be held on September 15-17, 2014, hosted by Shell as part of the festive celebrations dedicated to the 100 years of Shell Technology Center Amsterdam.

We wish to reflect back on what has been achieved in the past, as well as help define the challenges of the future and ways to tackle them together. We expect this event will reinforce the collaboration between Shell and many of its partners to
drive Rock and Fluid Physics research and deployment in new and exciting directions.

The conference is focused on four Themes: COMPLEX SYSTEMS, involving multi-component fluids and dynamic interactions with porous media; MULTI-SCALE physics, bridging the gap from interface science to pore-scale and field-scale; SYNERGIES between adjacent interdisciplinary fields; and FUTURE outlook on challenges currently limiting progress and on emerging unconventional areas to be considered.

We warmly welcome you to celebrate research, by contributing to our conference. Please browse through our web
site to better appreciate these themes and submit an abstract, which we would be happy to consider for a Submitted Talk and/or Poster presentation.

On behalf of your Host,

Yours sincerely - the organizing committee,
